Wild assistant coach Sydor arrested

Minnesota Wild assistant coach Darryl Sydor was arrested Thursday in Fridley, Minn., on suspicion of drunken driving.

The Wild issued the following statement Friday afternoon:

"We are aware of the reports regarding Darryl Sydor. We are continuing to gather information and will have further comment at the appropriate time."

According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Sydor was released from jail Friday afternoon after bail was set at $12,000.

Sydor's 12-year-old son was in the car at the time of the arrest, according to the newspaper.

Sydor, 43, was arrested by Fridley police at 5:15 p.m. Thursday and taken to the Fridley police station, where he was charged with two DUI offenses, according to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office website.
