WHL victory gives Canada 5-1 series win over Russia in ADT Challenge

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. - Kyle Beach of the Everett Silvertips scored the game-winning goal as the Western Hockey League all-stars beat in Russian Selects 2-1 Thursday in the final game of the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge.

Canada's three major junior leagues combined to win the series 5-1. Zach Boychuk of the Lethbridge Hurricanes had the other WHL goal on a power play.

Vadim Ermolaev replied for Russia.

Dustin Tokarski of the Spokane Chiefs made 22 stops for the WHL. Russia's Alexander Pechurskiy stopped 42 shots.

The six-game series was played in three legs, whit each of Canada's major junior leagues hosting the Russia Selects for two games. The Quebec Junior Hockey League split their two game series with the Russians, while the Ontario Hockey League and WHL earned sweeps.
