WHL scoring leader Sonne has two goals as Hitmen dump Thunderbirds @NHLdotcom

SEATTLE - Brett Sonne scored two goals to lead the Calgary Hitmen to a 4-1 victory over the Seattle Thunderbirds in Western Hockey League action Sunday.

Sonne, who leads the WHL with 51 points (20 goals, 31 assists), was closest to the puck when Seattle scored into its own net at 5:30 of the first period.

Seattle (13-15-1-2) tied the game on a power-play goal by Greg Scott later in the first period.

Sonne broke the tie with a power-play goal of his own at 12:35 of the second period.

Carson McMillan added an unassisted, short-handed goal at 5:12 of the third period for the Hitmen before Brandon Kozun scored his 22nd of the season on a power play at 13:19 of the third period.

Martin Jones made 30 saves for Calgary (26-5-1-1).

Calvin Pickard stopped 32 shots for Seattle.
