WHL Roundup: Turgeon scores twice as Winterhawks beat Chiefs 2-1 in OT

SPOKANE, Wash. - Dominic Turgeon scored his second goal of the game 2:52 into overtime as the Portland Winterhawks edged the host Spokane Chiefs 2-1 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.

Turgeon opened the scoring at 19:36 of the first period to make it 1-0 for the Winterhawks (16-16-0), who had dropped back-to-back outings.

Hudson Elyniuk responded 3:31 into the second period for the Chiefs (16-13-3), who have lost four in a row.

Portland's Michael Bullion made 42 saves for the win as Matt Berlin kicked out 30-of-32 shots for Spokane.

The Winterhawks went 0 for 3 on the power play while the Chiefs failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.

REGINA ? Nikita Soshnin had a pair of goals as Saskatoon handed the Pats a third straight loss.

Mason McCarty, Nick Zajac, Terrell Draude and Josh Paterson also scored for the Blades (12-17-3).

Adam Brooks, Austin Wagner, Colton Kroeker and Taylor Cooper supplied the goals for Regina (15-15-4).

MOOSE JAW, Sask. ? Dallas Valentine scored the go-ahead goal at 14:50 of the third period to lift Kamloops over the Warriors.

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. ??? Hunter Warner's second-period goal stood up as the winner as the Raiders snapped a three-game skid with a win over Kelowna.

Austin Glover and Dylan Willimason also scored for Prince Albert (19-11-3).

Lucas Johansen kept the Rockets (25-8-1) from being blanked.

EDMONTON ??? Ryley Lindgren and Barrett Sheen scored two minutes apart in the second period as Lethbridge downed the Oil Kings for its third straight win.

Andrew Nielsen added an empty netter for the Hurricanes (23-11-0).

Dysin Mayo was the lone scorer for Edmonton (13-19-3), which is on a five-game slide.
