WHL Roundup: Linaker scores winner as Rockets remain undefeated

EVERETT, Wash. - Cole Linaker scored 24 seconds into overtime and Tyson Baillie added a pair of goals in regulation as the Kamloops Blazers edged the host Everett Silvertips 5-4 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.

Nick Merkley and Austin Glover also scored in regulation for the Blazers (5-0-0).

Nikita Scherbak scored twice for the Silvertips (3-0-1) while Remi Laurencelle scored on a penalty shot in the second period to round out Everett's offence.

Jackson Whistle made 24 saves for Kelowna as Austin Lotz kicked out 28-of-33 shots for the Silvertips.

The Rockets went 1 for 5 on the power play while Everett scored twice on five chances with the man advantage.

BRANDON ?Justin Gutierrez scored at 3:32 in overtime for Tri-City.

Lucas Nickles had two goals and Brian Williams also scored for the Americans (3-2-0).

John Quenneville, Tyler Coulter and Mark Matsuba all scored for Brandon (4-0-1).

CRANBROOK, B.C. ??? Jaedon Descheneau scored his first goal of the season at 4:57 of overtime to give Kootenay the victory.

Zak Zborosky scored at 18:16 of the third period for the Ice (2-2-0) to send the game to overtime.

Keanu Yamamoto was Spokane's (2-0-1) only goal scorer.
