WHL Roundup: Klimchuk scores OT winner as Pats edge Warriors 2-1 @NHL

MOOSE JAW, Sask. - Morgan Klimchuk scored 1:06 into overtime to lift the Regina Pats to a 2-1 victory over the Moose Jaw Warriors in Western Hockey League action on Wednesday.

Adam Brooks also scored for the Pats (23-12-2), tying the game with his 16th goal of the season at 9:21 of the second period.

Dallas Valentine supplied the offence for the Warriors (15-19-4), who are winless in their last six games.

Regina goaltender Daniel Wapple made 26 saves in the win. Moose Jaw's Zach Sawchenko stopped 29 shots in the losing effort.

Both teams were held scoreless on five power-play opportunities.



EDMONTON ? Brandon Baddock scored a tiebreaking goal 1:07 into the second period and the Oil Kings added two more goals en route to victory over Swift Current.

Ashton Sautner and Tyson Gruninger scored for Edmonton (17-16-5), and Brett Pollock added an empty-netter at 17:38 of the third period.

Glenn Gawdin replied for the Broncos (19-16-4).



KENNEWICK, Wash. ? Kailer Yamamoto and Calder Brooks each had two goals and an assist as the Chiefs downed Tri-City for their seventh straight win.

Adam Helewka scored one goal and assisted on five more for Spokane (21-12-3), which was 5 for 7 on the power play. Jason Fram had a goal and two helpers, and Keanu Yamamoto, Dominic Zwerger, Riley Whittingham and Jackson Playfair also scored.

Brian Williams struck twice for the Chiefs (18-17-1), with both goals coming on the man advantage.



PORTLAND, Ore. ??? Florian Baltram's power-play goal at 10:25 of the second period held up as the winner as Seattle edged the Winterhawks.

Evan Wardley also scored for the Thunderbirds (18-15-4), who extended their winning streak to five games.

Dominic Turgeon replied for Portland (19-17-3) on the power play at 16:45 of the third period.
