WHL Roundup: Jake Leschyshyn scores hat trick in Pats' overtime win over Hitmen

CALGARY - Jake Leschyshyn completed a hat trick at 3:01 of overtime as the Regina Pats edged the Calgary Hitmen 4-3 on Friday night in Western Hockey League action.

Colten Kroeker added a power-play goal in the second period for the Pats (12-10-2). Sergey Zborovskiy and Taylor Cooper both had two assists.

Jakob Stukel scored twice, with Travis Sanheim also finding the back of the net in regulation for Calgary (16-10-2), which had a seven-game winning streak snapped.

Jordan Hollett made 30 saves for the win in net as Cody Porter turned away 34 shots for the Hitmen.

Regina scored once on five power-play chances while Calgary converted on its lone opportunity.

BLADES 5 BRONCOS 4 (OT)

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. ? Wyatt Sloboshan scored his second goal of the game 55 seconds into overtime as Saskatoon edged the Broncos.

Mason McCarty also had a pair of goals as the Blades (10-11-3) snapped a four-game skid. Cameron Hebig rounded out the attack.

Kaden Elder, Cavin Leth, Jake DeBrusk and Jon Martin supplied the offence for Swift Current (8-14-3).

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. ??? Lane Bauer struck twice as Edmonton got past the Raiders.

Dario Meyer, Brandon Baddock and Aaron Irving also scored for the Oil Kings (10-14-3).

Matteo Gennaro had the lone goal for Prince Albert (15-7-3) on the power play.

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. ??? Justin Gutierrez scored twice for the Hurricanes as they doubled up Brandon.

Tyler Wong and Egor Babenko added the others for Lethbridge (16-9-0), which won its third straight.

Tanner Kaspick and John Quenneville had goals for the Wheat Kings (14-8-2).

MEDICINE HAT, Alta. ??? Brandon Hagel had a goal and two assists as Red Deer toppled the Tigers.

Haydn Fleury, Conner Bleackley, Presten Kopeck, Austin Pratt and Grayson Pawlenchuk supplied the rest of the offence for the Rebels (18-8-0).

Cole Sanford scored twice for Medicine Hat (8-11-3), which also got goals from Brad Forrest and Max Gerlach.

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. ??? Jake Kryski scored the only goal of the shootout as Kamloops slipped past the Cougars.

Ondrej Vala, Dawson Davidson and Ryan Rehill had goals in regulation for the Blazers (11-8-3).

Chase Witala, Jansen Harkins and Colby McAuley supplied the offence for Prince George (12-9-2).

KENNEWICK, Wash. ??? Parker Bowles struck twice and Parker Wotherspoon had a goal and three assists as the Americans edged Spokane.

Brian Williams had a goal and two assists while Jordan Topping and Tyler Sandhu also scored for Tri-City (10-15-1).

Markson Bechtold and Adam Helewka both had a pair of goals for the Chiefs (13-9-3), who had a four-game winning streak ended. Ethan McIndoe rounded out the attack, with Kailer Yamamoto adding four assists.

VICTORIA ??? Justin Kirland and Tyson Baillie both had a goal and an assist as Kelowna beat the Royals.

Calvin Thurkauf also found the back of the net as the Rockets (19-5-1) improved to 10-0-1 in their last 11 games.
