WHL Roundup: A look at Tuesday's games @NHLdotcom

Forwards Justin Feser and Brendan Shinnimin had two goals each as the Tri-City Americans beat the Victoria Royals 6-2 in Western Hockey League action Tuesday night.

Feser also had two assists while Shinnimin added one.

Mason Wilgosh and Tyson Dallman also scored for the Americans (21-7-0) while winger Patrick Holland finished with two assists.

Zane Jones and Robin Soudek replied for the Royals (12-16-2)

Elsewhere in the WHL it was: Prince Albert 6 Regina 3; Moose Jaw 6 Red Deer 5; Edmonton 6 Calgary 2; and Portland 5 Prince George 3.

At Victoria, Wilgosh opened the scoring, taking a nice feed from Malte Stromwall and firing a snap shot in the top corner behind Royals goaltender Keith Hamilton.

Feser then scored on a five-on-three power play with a quick one-timer.

The Royals got within one late in the period when Jones jumped up after a hit, took a pass from Ben Walker and beat Americans goalie Ty Rimmer.

Tri-City dominated in the second period, scoring three times. Shinnimin started things off when he split the Royals defence on the power play and scored, chasing Hamilton from the game.

With Royals backup Jared Rathjen in net, Dallman scored his first goal of the season for Tri-City on a backhand.

Late in the period Feser got his second goal of the game after winger Patrick Holland's wraparound attempt came right out in front, giving the Americans a 5-1 lead after 40 minutes.

The teams traded goals in the third, with the Royals' Soudek getting a generous bounce off the end boards and Shinnimin scoring for his second goal of the game.

Rimmer shut the door the rest of the way, finishing the game with 30 saves.

Hamilton allowed three goals on 10 shots, while Rathjen made 14 saves in relief.

At Prince Albert, Sask., Mike Winther had three goals and two assists as the Raiders defeated Regina.


Warriors 6 Rebels 5

At Moose Jaw, Sask., Quinton Howden scored his second goal of the game with 4.8 seconds left to give the Warriors a win over Red Deer.


Oil Kings 6 Hitmen 2

At Edmonton, Defenceman Griffin Reinhart had a goal and two assists as the Oil Kings routed Calgary.


Winterhawks 5 Cougars 3

At Prince George, B.C., Ty Rattie scored three goals as Portland beat the Cougars.
