Tyler Maxwell scored two goals, becoming the leading goal scorer in Everett franchise history, and the Silvertips defeated the Tri-City Americans 6-3 Sunday night in Western Hockey League action.
Maxwell's two goals gave him 102 in his career. He had been tied atop the list with Shane Harper at 100.
Josh Winquist and Nick Walters also scored, then Josh Birkholz added a pair of empty-net goals as Everett (2-5-2) snapped a four-game losing streak. Kent Simpson played a strong game in net for the Silvertips, making 43 saves.
Elsewhere in the WHL, Kamloops edged Kelowna 3-2 and Calgary beat Swift Current 5-1.
At Everett, Wash., Adam Hughesman scored twice and Zach Yuen also scored as Tri-City (7-4-0) rallied in the third period. The Americans trailed 4-1, but pulled within 4-3 when Yuen scored after goaltender Ty Rimmer was pulled with 4:57 remaining.
Rimmer finished with 28 saves.

At Kamloops, B.C., Colin Smith, Brendan Ranford and J.C. Lipon scored as the Blazers (7-2-0) beat Kelowna (3-5-1) to win for the third time in as many nights Kelowna Rockets.

At Calgary, Alex Gogolev scored twice and set up another goal to lead the Hitmen (2-4-1) to a win over Swift Current (4-6-1).
