White, McCollum and Helenius earn CHL player of week honours @NHLdotcom

TORONTO - Ryan White of the Calgary Hitmen was named the Canadian Hockey League's player of the week Tuesday after recording five goals and five assists in four games.

Thomas McCollum of the Guelph Storm and Riku Helenius of the Seattle Thunderbirds shared goalie of the week honours after posting nearly identical numbers.

McCollum was 2-0 with a 0.50 goals-against average and .987 save percentage in two games while Helenius was 2-0 with a 0.50 GAA and .980 save percentage in two games.

White, a 19-year-old native of Brandon, Man., has scored 25 goals to go along with 34 assists for 59 points in 52 games this season.

The 18-year-old McCollum, from Sanborn, N.Y., improved his season record to 18-11-3-3 with a 2.52 GAA and .913 save percentage in 36 games.

Helenius, a 19-year-old from Finland, improved to 15-9-5-1 with a 2.37 GAA and .917 save percentage in 30 games as a WHL rookie.
