BRANDON, Man. - The Brandon Wheat Kings scored five times in a span of six-and-a-half minutes during the second period on their way to a 9-2 victory over the Moose Jaw Warriors in the Western Hockey League on Friday night.
Scott Glennie scored two goals and set up two others for the Wheat Kings (46-18-4). Aaron Lewadniuk added a goal and three assists, while Matt Calvert, Brent Raedeke, Brayden Schenn, Colby Robak, Mike Ferland and Jordan Hale also scored.
Brandon had trailed Moose Jaw 2-1 before their second-period outburst.
Kevin Smith and Jason Bast replied for the Warriors (32-25-10).
Wheat Kings netminder Andrew Hayes made 24 saves. Jeff Bosch stopped 28 of 33 shots for Moose Jaw before being replaced by Brandon Glover, who made 11 saves on 15 shots.
Brandon stretched its lead in the East Division to three points over the Saskatoon Blades.
