The Montreal Canadiens and Boston Bruins, two Original Six teams, have one of the longest and most intense rivalries in the NHL. The Canadiens have 24 Stanley Cup titles and has made the Stanley Cup Playoffs in eight of the past 10 seasons, including two trips to the Eastern Conference Final. The Bruins have won the Cup six times and made the playoffs eight times in 10 seasons, including two trips to the Final and one win (2011).

All-Star selections

The rosters for the 2018 Honda NHL All-Star Game were announced this week, and it's really nice to see some of the young guys in there for the first time, Aleksander Barkov (Florida Panthers), Jack Eichel (Buffalo Sabres), Brayden Schenn (St. Louis Blues), Blake Wheeler (Winnipeg Jets) and Josh Bailey (New York Islanders) among them. Some of these guys have had good seasons in the past but were never rewarded with a selection.

The Minnesota Wild have been trying to emulate the Chicago Blackhawks. Their longtime Central Division rival has had great success this decade. In fact, Chicago defeated Minnesota three straight years in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, including when they won the Cup in 2013 and 2015.
