Wednesday's QMHHL roundup @NHLdotcom

Samson Mahbod scored twice to help the P.E.I. Rocket beat the Saint John Sea Dogs 3-1 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play Wednesday.

The 20-year-old from Montreal scored his 19th and 20th goals of the season in the third period. Matthew Hobbs capitalized on the power play on the other goal for the Rocket (33-22-8).

Steven Anthony had the lone goal for the Sea Dogs (51-11-1).

In the only other game in the QMJHL, Baie-Comeau downed Rimouski 5-1.

At Saint John, N.B., Hobbs opened the scoring for P.E.I. 4:43 into the second period with an assist from Adam Polasek.

Anthony used the man advantage to reply for the Sea Dogs a few minutes later.

Mahbod scored his first of the night at 6:58 of the third period to give the Rocket a 2-1 lead and added an empty-netter 40 seconds left.

Evan Mosher turned away 37 shots for the Rocket. Marco Cousineau stopped 24 shots in defeat for the Sea Dogs.

Drakkar 5 Oceanic 1

At Baie-Comeau, Que., Nahan Dunnett stopped 34 shots as the Drakkar downed Rimouski.

Dominic-Antoine Tremblay, Maxime Renaud, Simon Olsson, Raphael Bussieres and Philip Richer all had goals for the Drakkar (19-38-6).

Felix Lefrancois had the lone goal for the Oceanic (32-24-7).
