The Belleville Bulls didn't take as many shots as the Niagara IceDogs on Wednesday, but they sure made theirs count.
Eric Tangradi and Bryan Cameron had two goals and three assists apiece as the Bulls thrashed the IceDogs 8-1 in OHL action. Mike Murphy made 40 saves for the Bulls (16-6-1-2), who were outshot 12-7 in the third but scored five goals in the period to put the game away.
Niagara outshot Belleville 41-29 for the game.
Matthew Tipoff, Stephen Johnston, P.K. Subban and Scott Howe had the other goals for Belleville, which went 4-for-8 on the power play.
Elsewhere in the OHL, it was: Peterborough 5, Barrie 4; and Saginaw 3, Owen Sound 2.
At Belleville, Ont., Alex Pietrangelo accounted for Niagara's lone goal, as the IceDogs dropped to 8-9-4-4.
Pietrangelo was sent down last Thursday from the St. Louis Blues. He has a goal and three assists in two games since returning to Niagara.
Petes 5, Colts 4
At Peterborough, Ont., Zach Harnden's third-period power-play goal proved the winner as the Petes edged the Barrie Colts.
Justin Larson led the Petes with two goals, while Sergey Korostin added three assists. Ryan Spooner and Tony Romano scored the other goals for Peterborough (11-13-0-1).
Darren Archibald scored twice for the Colts, while Mitch Lebar and Kyle Clifford chipped in with singles.
Peter Di Salvo stopped 41 of 46 shots for Barrie (9-12-1-1). Peterborough's Ryan Daniels made 37 saves.
Spirit 3, Attack 2
At Owen Sound, Ont., Jack Combs scored twice, including the overtime-winner as the Saginaw Spirit defeated the Owen Sound Attack 3-2 Wednesday in Ontario Hockey League action.
Combs opened the scoring at 9:25 of the first and netted the winner 28 seconds into the extra frame on the power play.
Adam Comrie also scored for the Spirit (13-7-0-1).
Garrett Wilson and Mike Lomas replied for Owen Sound (8-10-4-1).
Edward Pasquale blocked 37 shots for Saginaw, while Tyler Beskorowany made 29 saves for the Attack.
