Wedgewood knocked out of Canada's net after hit by Russian at world juniors @NHLdotcom

CALGARY - Canadian goaltender Scott Wedgewood was knocked down by Russian forward Alexander Khokhlachev and then out of Tuesday night's world junior hockey championship semifinal.

Yevgeni Kuzenetsov scored his third goal of the game at 8:48 of the second period to give Russia a 4-1 lead over Canada.

After the goal, Khokhlachev crashed into the net, knocking down Wedgewood. The Candian had allowed four goals on 13 shots up to that point.

Wedgewood was then replaced in goal by Mark Visentin, who surrendered a power-play goal to Khokhlachev at 10:30 of the second period.

There was no word on Wedgewood's condition after the hit. He returned to Canada's bench for the third period.
