Weber goes for milestone as Predators host Senators

SENATORS (7-4-3) at PREDATORS (8-3-2)

NASHVILLE – Shea Weber will attempt to become the 39th defenseman in NHL history to reach 150 goals when the Nashville Predators face the Ottawa Senators at Bridgestone Arena on Tuesday.

Weber has 149 goals and 399 points in his NHL career.

"Honestly I had no idea," Weber said. "Hopefully I don't get snakebit here for a long time thinking about it. I'm fortunate enough to have a chance to play in the NHL. Nashville has given me a great opportunity here. I'm very thankful for that, and hopefully a lot more good years to come."

The Predators won 4-3 in a shootout in their first game against the Senators on Oct. 17 at Canadian Tire Centre. They're looking to limit offensive chances for the Senators in transition Tuesday.

"They're a good team," Weber said. "They transition quickly, they've got some speed and we've got to make sure we're ready tonight."

Nashville recalled forward Colton Sissons from Milwaukee of the American Hockey League and placed goaltender Carter Hutton on injured reserve with an upper-body injury. Goaltender Marek Mazanec was recalled from Milwaukee on Monday.

Ottawa goaltender Craig Anderson will start against Nashville after goaltender Andrew Hammond started Saturday in a 3-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. Anderson hopes the Senators can have better third periods beginning Tuesday.

"Throughout the game, there's going to be momentum swings going back and forth," Anderson said. "You're just trying to maximize the momentum swing when you do have it. Sometimes it's one of those things where you don't know at what point in the game when the momentum swing is going to change. For the last couple games, it's been the third period."
