Weather looks good for Winter Classic

by Staff
It looks as if the weather will cooperate as the NHL prepares for the Winter Classic between the Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings on New Year's Day at Wrigley Field. and Chicago's WMAQ-TV predict partly cloudy and windy conditions on Sunday with temperatures ranging between 28 and 34 degrees and a 20-percent chance of precipitation.

Monday and Tuesday are both predicted to be partly cloudy with a high of 41 degrees and no more than a 10-percent change of precipitation. Monday's low is predicted to be 29 degrees, with Tuesday's low at 24.

It's expected to get colder for New Year's Eve. Skies will feature a mix of sun and clouds, but the highs for the day are expected to be only 27 degrees, with a low of 19.

For the game itself, the weather looks good. Though skies are predicted to be cloudy, there's only a 10-percent chance of precipitation — and temperatures are expected to get no higher than 31 degrees.
