Weal with four points to lead the Pats over the Broncos 4-1 @NHL

REGINA - Jordan Weal scored a goal and added three assists to lead the Regina Pats to a 4-1 win over the Swift Current Broncos on Friday in Western Hockey League action.

Regina (20-14-4) also got two goals from Dyson Stevenson, one on the power play and an empty netter, and Jack Rodewald.

Coda Gordon scored the lone goal for Swift Current (14-19-5).

Making 31 saves for the win was Matt Hewitt. Turning away 27 shots in the loss was Jon Groenheyde.

The Pats went 1-for-3 on the power play while the Broncos scored on their only opportunity with the man advantage.

The game marked a sad anniversary for both teams. Exactly 25 years ago four members of the Broncos were killed when the team bus crashed en route to Regina to play the Pats.

Tim Tisdale, a player with the Broncos who was on the bus that night, dropped a ceremonial puck to start the game.
