#TBT: Gretzky's name was spelled wrong in his high school yearbook

If only they knew who he would grow up to be, maybe the yearbook staff at Wayne Gretzky's high school would've double-checked the spelling of his name.

But back in 1976, Gretzky was just another frosh in the crowd at West Humber Collegiate Institute in Etobicoke, Ontario.
That didn't even turn out to be the most notable flub. On Oct. 30, 1997, Gretzky, then a member of the New York Rangers,
played a game with his name spelled
"Gretkzy" on his jersey.
And just two years ago, Gretzky
received a jersey from Tottenham
Hotspur Football Club that said "Gretsky."
Maybe going by "The Great One" would make it easier on everyone.
