Fool Evgeny Kuznetsov once, shame on you. Fool him twice and you must be Brett Connolly.

The Washington Capitals forward was just trying to show teammate Connolly some love after his goal was upheld following replay review, but, well, it didn't work out.
Connolly's power play goal gave the Capitals a 3-1 lead in the final minute of the second period. He returned to the bench, but appeared fixated on the replay screen on the scoreboard.
The problem? Kuznetsov had his right hand extended toward Connolly for fist bump, but it never came. So, Kuznetsov bumped his own gloves together.
Give Kuznetsov high marks for persistence, because he tried again, determined to congratulate his teammate.
But then, history, unfortunately, repeated itself.
Connolly took to Twitter for the apology featuring plenty of fist bump emojis.

Next time for sure!
