Capitals, Blackhawks congratulate Ovechkin on 800th NHL goal

Alex Ovechkin received lots of applause on social media after scoring his 800th career goal on Tuesday.
The Washington Capitals captain reached the career milestone on a hat trick
against the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center.
The Capitals made a special video collage of all Ovechkin's milestone goals throughout his career to celebrate.

Washington also posted a video of Ovechkin gifting his stick to a young Capitals fan after the game.

Ovechkin was showered with beer by his Capitals teammates when he entered into the locker room.

The Blackhawks tweeted out their congratulations after the third period goal.

Chicago also posted a video of Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews congratulating Ovechkin after the game.

The Capitals forward was mic'd up for the epic moment.

Ovechkin is the third player in NHL history to score 800 goals.
