Warriors can't recover from huge weekend loss, drop 5-3 decision to Broncos @NHLdotcom

MOOSE JAW, Sask. - The Moose Jaw Warriors came out with a mission after their last painful loss, but couldn't find a consistent effort against Swift Current, dropping a 5-3 decision to the Broncos at home on Wednesday.

Trying to erase the memory of their 11-1 drubbing at the hands of Saskatoon on Sunday, the Warriors almost escaped a pitiful second period without scratches, but Matt Tassone scored with seconds left to tie it 2-2.

In the third, Quinten Howden tied it up for the hosts, but bad giveaways and sloppy defensive play led to Eric Doyle's tying goal and Michael Stickland's winner. Justin Dowling added an empty netter.

Scott and Dylan Hood also scored for Moose Jaw, while Jan Dalecky had the other Swift Current goal.

Travis Yonkman made 23 saves on 26 shots for the win, while the Warriors' Jeff Bosch stopped 33 of 37.

Moose Jaw (14-34-1-1) stands in last place overall in the WHL's Eastern Conference, while Swift Current (28-23-0-1) is fifth.
