Walter scores with time running down as Heat defeat IceHogs for 13th road win

ROCKFORD, Ill. - Ben Walter scored with 1:20 left in the third period as the Abbotsford Heat beat the Rockford IceHogs 2-1 in American Hockey League action Saturday.

It was the Heat's league-leading 13th road win of the season.

Krys Kolanos also scored for Abbotsford (14-8-1).

Brett McLean countered for Rockford (8-11-1).

Leland Irving made 28 saves for Abbotsford.

Carter Hutton stopped 22 shots for Rockford.

Kolanos opened the scoring with a power-play goal just past the midway point of the first period.

McLean tied the game less than two minutes later.

That was all the offence either them could muster until Walter scored his second goal in as many games to give Abbotsford the win.
