Walker scores two as Winterhawks beat Ice 5-1 to stay at the top of the West @NHLdotcom

CRANBROOK, B.C. - Luke Walker scored twice as the Portland Winterhawks won 5-1 over the Kootenay Ice in Western Hockey League action Friday night.

Riley Boychuk, Brad Ross and Tyler Wotherspoon also scored for the Winterhawks (11-5-0), who maintained their lead in the Western Conference.

Kevin King had the lone reply for Kootenay (5-9-0).

Kurtis Mucha made 33 saves for Portland, while Ice netminder Nathan Lieuwen was pulled after allowing five goals on 28 shots.
