Wahl scores twice as Spokane Chiefs shut out Portland Winterhawks 4-0 @NHLdotcom

PORTLAND, Ore. - Mitch Wahl scored the first goal of the game and it was all the Spokane Chiefs needed to defeat the Portland Winterhawks 4-0 in Western Hockey League play on Friday night.

Kyle Beach scored his 49th goal of the year for Spokane (41-21-5), while Kenton Miller and Steve Kuhn also tallied. James Reid made 28 saves for the shutout.

Ian Curtis stopped 31 shots for Portland (40-25-3).
