New Jersey Devils defenseman Anton Volchenkov will have a disciplinary hearing Thursday morning with the NHL Department of Player Safety for an incident that occurred during a game Wednesday night against the Boston Bruins at the Prudential Center.
The following grounds for potential supplemental discipline are being considered: elbowing.
Volchenkov was assessed a major penalty for elbowing and a game misconduct for a hit on Boston's Brad Marchand at the 15:11 mark of the second period. Marchand left the game after the hit and did not return.
