Vladimir Dravecky scores shootout winner as Monarchs top Moose 3-2 @NHLdotcom

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Vladimir Dravecky scored the shootout winner as the Manchester Monarchs beat the league-leading Manitoba Moose 3-2 in AHL action Friday night.

Dravecky also scored once during regulation and Marc-Andre Cliche added the Monarchs' other tally as Manchester improved to 23-24-0-5.

Manitoba's defence was non-existent, allowing 39 shots on netminder Curtis Sanford to their 19 against Monarchs goalie Daniel Taylor.

Despite the loss, the Moose (36-14-0-5) remained three points ahead of the Grand Rapids Griffins atop the Western Conference.

After two period of no scoring, Moose forward Jason Jaffray opened the scoring 52 seconds into the third.

Cliche tied it 1-1 four minutes later, sneaking the puck between Sanford's pads.

Dravecky gave Manchester the lead at 12:14, but with just over a minute left in regulation and an extra attacker on the ice Maxime Fortunus tied the game at two to force OT and eventually the shootout.

Trevor Lewis and Justin Azevedo also scored for Manchester in the shootout while Jason Krog had the lone shootout goal for the Moose.
