ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - Mark Visentin made 26 saves for his second straight shutout and league-leading sixth of the season as the Niagara IceDogs hammered the Belleville Bulls 6-0 in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday night.
Brett Ritchie led the way offensively with a pair of goals, while captain Andrew Agozzino added his team-leading 29th goal of the season. Freddie Hamilton, on the power play, Mitchell Theoret and Trevor Peterson also scored for the IceDogs.
Agozzino's goal was the 148th of his OHL career tying him with Patrick O'Sullivan for the IceDogs franchise record. The team, formerly known as the Mississauga IceDogs, moved from Mississauga to Niagara for the 2007-2008 season.
The IceDogs improved to (29-14-3) with the win and have now won nine of their past 10 games.
Former IceDog John Chartrand turned aside 28 shots in the loss, as Belleville (22-23-1) lost its six straight and ninth of its past 10 overall.
The IceDogs went 1-for-2 on the power play, while the Bulls were 0-for-2.
