Forward Vincent Trocheck will sign a six-year, $28.5 million contract with the Florida Panthers, the Miami Herald reported Saturday.

Trocheck, who turns 23 on July 11, was a restricted free agent. The Pittsburgh native was selected by the Panthers in the third round (No. 64) of the 2011 NHL Draft.
Trocheck set NHL career highs with 25 goals and 53 points in 76 games last season. His regular season ended when he fractured his ankle blocking a shot against the Toronto Maple Leafs on March 29, but he returned for the Stanley Cup Playoffs and played the final two games against the New York Islanders in the Eastern Conference First Round.
He has 37 goals and 83 points in 146 regular-season games over three NHL seasons, and one assist in two postseason games.
