Vince Trocheck has goal, five assists as Saginaw beats Windsor 7-1 @NHLdotcom

WINDSOR, Ont. - Vince Trochek had a goal and five assists as the Saginaw Spirit hammered the Windsor Spitfires 7-1 on Sunday.

Four of those points came in the third period as Saginaw blew the game open.

Brandon Saad, a Chicago Blackhawks draft pick, added two goals while Garrett Ross, Eric Locke, Steven Strong and Michael Fine each scored once for the Spirit (29-26-8).

Zack MacQueen replied for Windsor (27-30-6).

Jake Patterson made 27 saves to pick up the win in goal for Saginaw while Jaroslav Pavelka stopped 29 shots at the other end.

Spirit defenceman Grant Webermin assisted on Locke's first-period goal to pick up his first point in 15 games in Saginaw since being acquired in a deadline deal from the Spitfires in January.

Saginaw moved four points up on Windsor in the Western Conference standings.
