Video Review: MTL @ DET - 2:53 of the First Period

At 2:53 of the first period in the Canadiens/Red Wings game, the Situation Room initiated a video review to further examine a play at the Detroit net. The referee informed the Situation Room that play was stopped when Tomas Plekanec touched the puck because there was a delayed penalty against Montreal. According to Rule 15.1, "when the team to be penalized gains control of the puck, the Referee will blow his whistle to stop play and impose the penalty to the offending player." This is not a reviewable play therefore the referee's call on the ice stands - minor penalty to Plekanec and no goal Montreal.
