Kings discuss NHL Gaming Challenge, quarantine life

The Kings held a video call on Friday with Blake Lizotte, Michael Amadio and Trevor Moore to check in and see what the players have been up to during quarantine.

Hosted by Patrick O'Neal from Fox Sports West, the players were asked about their gaming, working out and doing their part to support essential workers during this time.

O'Neal spoke about the LA Kings partners that joined in to help with yesterday's delivery to Children's Hospital Los Angeles which included McDonalds, Popcornopolis, Real Time Pain Relief and Melissa's Produce. He also praised the organization's ongoing deliveries to essential workers of team partners Gelson's, SoCalGas, Keck Medicine and Belfor.

As part of this same program, the Kings also delivered meals, snacks and hand sanitizer to Metro Division 10's bus operators and maintenance workers with the help of Blaze Pizza, Popcornopolis, Melissa's Produce, and Real Time Pain Relief.

Moore, who was able to take part in the CHLA deliveries, was asked what it means for him personally and as a member of the Kings to be able to contribute during these trying times.

"I feel really honored to be able to help in any way I can," Moore said. "We were able to just drop off some food and some other things while keeping everyone safe and healthy."

The group discussed their admiration for Alex Iafallo's mom, who is working as a nurse on the front line during this pandemic. "His mom is on the front line, which is a very honorable thing. She's trying to keep everyone healthy" Amadio said and mentioned it's important to stay in contact with teammates during this time.

Lizotte was asked to speak on his involvement with the NHLPA's "Front Line > First Line" initiative.

"Front Line > First Line is giving recognition to all the front-line workers out there. The NHL's done a really good job of supporting front line workers all over the country," he said. "I'm really fortunate to be able to help out with anything I can."

Lizotte also talked about how great it is to be able to keep in contact with fans and the outside world and "to have a little bit of normalcy" during these difficult moments.

With both Lizotte and Amadio being involved in the NHL Player Gaming Challenge, they went over their gaming strategies.

"I go for the big hits [in the game]. That's not really my real-life style. Big hits, I like to pass. I'm not much of a scorer. Hopefully Amadio can bury the puck" Lizotte joked.

"I'm very jealous," Moore said. "I'd like to also go throw some hits in video games".
