SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - Victor Rask scored three goals Tuesday as the Calgary Hitmen won their first Western Hockey League road game of the season, 7-1 win over the Swift Current Broncos.
Calgary built 2-0 and 4-0 period leads and outscored the Broncos 3-1 in a penalty filled third period en route to the victory.
Kenton Miller, Trevor Cheek, Justin Kirsch, and Peter Kosterman also scored for Calgary (3-4-0-1).
Coda Gordon, with his sixth goal of the season, replied for Swift Current (4-7-1-0).
Chris Driedger turned aside 33 shots to improve to 2-0-1 as he helped backstop Calgary to its second straight win over Swift Current.
Broncos starting goaltender Austin Smith yielded three goals on 19 shots in 25:28 of action while falling to 2-3-0 on the year. Jon Groenheyde turned aside 21 of 25 shots in a relief appearance.
Calgary scored three times on eight power-play chances, including a pair of third period goals on 5-on-3 power plays. Swift Current was 1-for-7 with the man advantage.
