Vey's three points lead Medicine Hat past the Kelowna Rockets @NHLdotcom

MEDICINE HAT, Alta. - Linden Vey had a three-point night with a goal and two assists as the Medicine Hat Tigers downed the Kelowna Rockets 4-1 on Friday night in Western Hockey league action.

Vey opened the scoring at 2:49 of the first period, then set up Colton Grant, who gave the Tigers a 2-0 lead at 9:17. Travis Dunstall and Wacey Hamilton scored late in the third for Medicine Hat (3-1-1-1). Jamie Benn scored short-handed midway through the first for the Rockets (3-3-0-0).

Ryan Holfeld stopped 27 shots for the Tigers net, while Kris Lazaruk made 26 saves for Kelowna. The Rockets were scoreless on their four power-play chances.
