Versteeg leaves Panthers' game with leg injury

by Alain Poupart / NHL.com

SUNRISE, Fla. -- Florida Panthers right wing Kris Versteeg, who earlier missed 17 games because of a lower-body injury, left Tuesday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning after sustaining an apparent knee injury midway through the third period.

Versteeg was injured when he collided with Tampa Bay defenseman Radko Gudas, who was making his NHL debut. Versteeg immediately grabbed his right knee after falling to the ice and didn't put any weight on his right leg as he went off the ice.

Earlier in the game, Versteeg scored his second goal of the season.
