Barbashev, Marchessault lead Vegas to 5-3 win

Jonathan Quick made 27 saves in his fourth straight win since joining the Vegas Golden Knights, 5-3 against the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Ivan Barbashev scored twice, and Jonathan Marchessault had a goal and two assists for Vegas (42-20-6), which won the last four of its five-game road trip. The Golden Knights lead the Pacific Division by three points over the second-place Los Angeles Kings, who won 5-2 against the New York Islanders on Tuesday.
"We showed a lot of resiliency. Found ways to win games [on this trip]," Vegas center Jack Eichel said. "Each game had its own story and we found ways to win. [With] the exception of the first game in Florida (a 2-1 loss March 7), we did a good job. Some nights it was a checking, low-scoring game. That's what we did. There were other nights where we were good offensively. It was a long road trip and to get eight out of 10 [points] is pretty good."
Quick was traded from the Columbus Blue Jackets on March 2, one day after Los Angeles sent him to Columbus. He has a 2.22 goals-against average, a .930 save percentage and one shutout in four starts with the Golden Knights.
"Quick gives us a chance to win. Guys are comfortable with him," Golden Knights coach Bruce Cassidy said. "Veteran guy. He does a lot of those little things, not only stop the puck. He's been in the League a while so he's comfortable doing it."

Travis Sanheim, Nick Seeler and Morgan Frost scored, and Felix Sandstrom made 28 saves for Philadelphia (24-32-11), which has lost four straight and eight of nine (1-7-1).
"Lot of good things offensively, but we just don't get shots to the net," Flyers coach John Tortorella said. "Throughout most of the game, we had some breakdowns here and there. I didn't mind a lot of the game. We just have to keep on going. The effort's there."
Pavel Dorofeyev gave the Golden Knights a 1-0 lead at 8:34 of the first period, scoring for the second straight game. He brought the puck out from behind the net and roofed a shot past Sandstrom. It was also Dorofeyev's second goal in six NHL games; the forward's first goal came Sunday when he scored the-game-winner in a 5-3 victory against the St. Louis Blues.
"I liked him in training camp, I really did," Cassidy said. "But we were healthier at the skill positions. He went and worked on his game. You can see it now. It's paid off. He's strong on the puck. He separates in the offensive zone. He gives you [offensive] zone play and not just a rush guy. You need that."
Barbashev made it 2-0 on the power play at 1:58 of the second period, tipping a Shea Theodore shot.
Sanheim cut it to 2-1 when his shot bounced off the stick of Vegas defenseman Nicolas Hague and over Quick's glove at 8:10.

VGK@PHI: Blueger scores after multiple saves

Teddy Blueger pushed the lead to 3-1 at 11:06, scoring off a Phil Kessel rebound. It was Blueger's first goal in seven games since being traded from the Pittsburgh Penguins on March 1.
"Good to see him get rewarded," Cassidy said. "He's been so concerned with trying to check well and make sure you're in the right spots that sometimes he forgets about the offensive part of it. So, good for him."
Marchessault extended it to 4-1 on the power play at 3:01 of the third period with a one-timer from the bottom of the left face-off circle off an Eichel feed.
Seeler cut it to 4-2 at 8:24. He puck-handled around Theodore in the left circle and scored over Quick's glove.
"Without a doubt, that was definitely a nice one," Seeler said. "Not the result we wanted. No quit in this group. We played really well."

Frost pulled the Flyers within 4-3 at 10:15 with a one-timer off a Brendan Lemieux cross-crease pass.
Vegas defenseman Alec Martinez dove to clear the puck out of the crease at 15:18 with the net open after Quick stopped Frost from in close.
Barbashev scored into an empty net at 18:28 for the 5-3 final.
