VEGAS (February 24, 2018) - Vegas Golden Knights General Manager George McPhee announced today, February 24, the following roster transactions: the team has assigned forwards Stefan Matteau and Tomas Hyka to the American Hockey League's Chicago Wolves.

Matteau has appeared in eight games for the Golden Knights this season and has recorded one assist. In 42 games with the Wolves, he has 17 points (11 G, 6 A) to go with 38 penalty minutes. On February 2 against Milwaukee, the Chicago, Illinois native recorded his first AHL career hat trick. He was signed by the Golden Knights as a free agent on July 1, 2017.
Hyka made his NHL debut against the Anaheim Ducks on February 19 and scored his first career goal against the Vancouver Canucks on February 23. He has appeared in three games for Vegas this season. In 35 games for the Wolves this season, Hyka has recorded 34 points (13 G, 21 A) to go with two penalty minutes. During the preseason with the Golden Knights, Hyka appeared in five of the seven games and ranked tied for fourth in the NHL with four goals. He finished the exhibition schedule with five points (4G, 1A) and was one of three players on the team to record multiple goals during the preseason. Hyka was signed to an entry-level contract by the Golden Knights on June 1, 2017.
