Jack Dugan agreed to terms with the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday. The length and value of the entry-level contract were not released.

"I couldn't be more grateful for this next opportunity and excited to get going with Vegas whenever that may be," Dugan wrote on Twitter.

Selected by the Golden Knights in the fifth round (No. 142) of the 2017 NHL Draft, the 22-year-old forward led the NCAA in assists (42) and points (52) in 34 games for Providence College this season and was a top 10 finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, given to the player voted the best in NCAA men's ice hockey.

Dugan, a Pittsburgh native, also led NCAA skaters in points per game (1.53), assists per game (1.24), power-play points (22) and even-strength points (30).

"We are pleased to have the opportunity to continue to play a key role in the development of Jack Dugan as both a hockey player and as a young man within our organization," Golden Knights general manager Kelly McCrimmon said. "Jack took significant steps in his growth over the past two seasons as one of the best all-around players in college hockey and has proven that he is ready for the next challenge in his young career."

Dugan scored 39 points (10 goals, 29 assists) in 41 games for Providence as a freshman last season, helping the Friars advance to the 2019 NCAA Frozen Four. He also played one season with Chicago of the United States Hockey League, scoring 66 points (31 goals, 35 assists) in 54 games in 2017-18.
