"It's a great accomplishment but we're still only halfway," Vegas goalie Marc-Andre Fleury said. "We got to wait to see who comes on top against Winnipeg and Nashville and get ready for that game."

"I don't care which one it is, they are both great teams, outstanding teams," Golden Knights coach Gerard Gallant said. "We played them three times each this season, we've done well agaisnt them but again, that means nothing. It's playoff hockey and I hope they play a bunch of periods in overtime [Monday] night and that they go seven games and the same thing happens again. They are both great teams."
Vegas became the first NHL team to sweep a playoff series (the fourth to win one) in its inaugural season, defeating the Los Angeles Kings in the first round. The Minnesota North Stars also won a playoff series in their inaugural season (1968).
