Vancouver Canucks vs. Edmonton Oilers @NHL
Canucks-Oilers Preview

GAME: Vancouver Canucks (17-8-5-2) at Edmonton Oilers (12-14-6-0).

TIME: Saturday, 10 p.m. EST.

The Vancouver Canucks look to stretch their unbeaten streak against the Edmonton Oilers to seven games when the Northwest Division rivals meet for the second time this season.

Vancouver beat Edmonton 3-0 on Oct. 11 to improve to 5-0-1 against the Oilers since a 2-0 home loss on March 24, 2002.

The Canucks will be trying to get back on track after their five-game unbeaten streak ended with a 3-1 road loss to the Dallas Stars on Wednesday. It was just Vancouver's second defeat in its last 10 games (5-2-3).

Dallas scored twice during a three-minute stretch of the third period to beat the weary Canucks, who were playing their third game in four days.

The Canucks have scored the second-most goals in the Western Conference, but they have scored two goals or fewer in six of their last seven games.

"We're not doing the little things," Canucks defenseman Sami Salo said. "We're not being tough in front of the net. We're not keeping it simple. We've got a lot of talent here, we should be playing better."

Edmonton is winless in its last two after skating to a 1-1 tie with the Minnesota Wild at home on Thursday. The Oilers have won just twice in their last 13 overall (2-7-4) to fall into last place in the Northwest.

Edmonton was lucky to earn a point on Thursday as Brad Isbister scored on a pass from Ryan Smyth with just 1.9 seconds left in regulation.

"If he gets the opportunity -- like he did -- he can put it in the back of the net," Oilers coach Craig MacTavish said of Isbister, who has four goals in 22 games. "We don't have a lot of guys who can make that shot. He put himself in a good position and Ryan made a great pass."
