Gudbranson of Canucks to have hearing with Player Safety

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Erik Gudbranson will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Friday for boarding against Boston Bruins forward Frank Vatrano.

The incident occurred at 6:13 of the first period of the game at TD Garden on Thursday. Gudbranson received a five-minute major penalty for boarding. He also received fighting major and a game misconduct. Vatrano returned later in the game.
The Bruins defeated the Canucks 6-3.
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: boarding. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
