The Game

The Detroit Red Wings will try to end a three-game losing streak (0-2-1) when they host the Vancouver Canucks at Little Caesars Arena on Sunday. The Red Wings lost 4-3 in overtime to the Washington Capitals on Friday, allowing a power-play goal with 1:01 remaining in the third period and another in overtime.

Goaltender Jimmy Howard, who was pulled after allowing three goals on four shots in a 6-3 loss at the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday, is expected to start for Detroit.

Jacob Markstrom, who made 20 saves in Vancouver's 4-2 victory at the Buffalo Sabres on Friday, will make his sixth start of the season and the first of his career against the Red Wings.

Players to watch

Forward Derek Dorsett scored two goals and had an assist in the win at Buffalo. He has scored three goals in Vancouver's past two games.
