Boeser-Dog

Brock Boeser couldn't leave 2018 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend without a pup.

The Vancouver Canucks forward, All-Star Game MVP and noted dog lover, took home a puppy from the Humane Society of Tampa Bay amid the weekend's events.
"They had puppies at the hotel, the humane society," Boeser told reporters before the Canucks game against the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday."There was a puppy that my family really liked, and [he] stole my heart, I'm gonna be honest."
The dog, originally named Cider, was paired up with Auston Matthews during a photo shoot Friday. But Boeser, whose parents have two collies named Sammy and Jazzy and whose Instagram account is full of photos of puppies, ultimately left with the dog and renamed him Coola.

Boeser said he intended to adopt a dog during the summer but couldn't pass up the opportunity in Tampa. Coola will be in good hands with Boeser's parents in Minnesota while the Calder Trophy candidate finishes his rookie season in Vancouver.
