SPOKANE, Wash. - Collin Valcourt scored the winner with less than six minutes to play in the third period as the Spokane Chiefs edged the visiting Kootenay Ice 3-2 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.
Marek Kalus and Darren Kramer also scored for the Chiefs (36-23-9), who snapped a three-game losing streak.
Joey Leach and Elgin Pearce each scored for the Ice (36-25-8).
Eric Williams made 20 saves for the win while Nathan Lieuwen turned away 36 shots in a losing effort.
Both clubs went 1 for 4 on the power play.
