Valach's three-point night pushes Pats past Oil Kings for 6-3 win @NHLdotcom

EDMONTON - Juraj Valach scored two goals and added an assist to gave the Regina Pats a 6-3 victory over the Oil Kings in WHL action Thursday night.

Matt Delahey tallied the game-winner - his first of the year - with 6:12 remaining in the third period on a wrist shot from the point. It took 8:46 before the first shot was recorded as Robin Figren returned to the Oil Kings (11-15-2-3) lineup after missing four games with a wrist injury. Figren, named to Sweden's World Junior team, tipped a shot and added an assist for two points in his return.

The Pats' Jared Jagow responded with a wrister past Oil Kings netminder Dalyn Flette.

Edmonton's Tomas Vincour extended his point streak to three games (2-2-4) with a first period goal.

Linden Rowat, who stopped 27 shots on the night, was forced to make 14 saves on 16 shots in the first period, while his team was limited to only three, a team low for a first period shot total.

Matt Strueby scored in the second for Regina (19-12-0-1). Matt Swaby tallied his first of the year for Edmonton 1:08 into the third but Valach would tie it at 3-3, and add the 5-3 insurance marker, giving him three points on the night (2-1-3). Jordan Eberle tallied an empty-net marker.

Jagow had three points for Regina (1-2-3) on the night.

Flette stopped 20 in net for Edmonton.
