Vachon scores in overtime as Drummondville beats Acadie-Bathurst 2-1 @NHL

Guillaume Nadeau had an outing to remember - and it almost had a happy ending.

Marc-Olivier Vachon scored on a power play at 4:41 of overtime to lead the Drummondville Voltigeurs to a 2-1 victory over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Saturday in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

The come-from-behind triumph spoiled an incredible performance from Nadeau.

Making his first start of the season, the Acadie-Bathurst netminder missed a shutout by less than a minute-and-a-half, when Marc-Antoine Desnoyers scored for Drummondville to tie the game 1-1.

With Olivier Dame-Malka serving a penalty in overtime for the Titan, Vachon completed the comeback for the Voltigeurs (6-0-0), beating Nadeau on Drummondville's 46th shot of the game.

In other QMJHL action Saturday, it was: Rouyn-Noranda 4 Rimouski 3 (OT); Chicoutimi 4 Quebec 3 (SO); Gatineau 5 Halifax 2; Val-d'Or 7 Baie-Comeau 4; and Victoriaville 3 P.E.I. 1.

At Drummondville, Que., Nadeau stopped all 26 shots he faced over the first two periods, including an Andrew Razzano penalty shot in the final minute of the second period.

Jonathan Lessard's power-play goal midway through the second provided the lone offence for the Titan (2-2-2), who were outshot 46-19 overall.

Antoine Tardif earned the win in goal for the Voltigeurs, who have scored 28 goals while surrendering just seven through their first six games this season.

Huskies 4 Oceanic 3 (OT)

At Rimouski, Que., Jeff Desjardins' second goal of the season 1:16 into overtime lifted Rouyn-Noranda past the Oceanic.

Dmitri Kostromitin, Alexandre Beauregard and Gabriel Levesque also scored for the Huskies (4-3-0).

Petr Straka had a pair of goals while Jakub Culek also scored for Rimouski (1-3-2).


Sagueneens 4 Remparts 3 (SO)

At Quebec, Jacob Lagace, Michal Hlinka and Steve Lebel had shootout goals to lead Chicoutimi past the Remparts.

Lebel, Lagace and Antoine Roussel scored in regulation for the Sagueneens (2-2-2).

Jonathan Audy-Marchessault, Mikael Tam and Patrick Cusak replied for Quebec (3-1-2).


Olympiques 5 Mooseheads 2

At Halifax, Joshua Domingues and Alexandre Quesnel each scored twice as Gatineau cruised past the Mooseheads.

Thomas Middup had the other goal for the Olympiques (5-1-0).

Charles Bety and Yuri Cheremetiev countered for Halifax (0-5-0)


Foreurs 7 Drakkar 4

At Baie-Comeau, Que., Jonathan Hazen had two goals and two assists, and Val-d'Or scored five times in the third period to outslug the Drakkar.

Samuel Morneau added a pair of goals while Maxime Sauve, Olivier Archambault and Simon Lacroix also scored for the Foreurs (3-4-1).

Guillaume Goulet, Gabriel Bourque, Guillaume Langelier-Parent and Jonathan Parisien responded for Baie-Comeau (2-4-1).


Tigres 3 Rocket 1

At Charlottetown, Jonathan Bonneau's game-winner led Victoriaville past the Rocket.

Tomas Kubalik and Philip-Michael Devos added goals for the Tigres (4-2-1).

Jordon Southorn provided the lone offence for P.E.I. (3-1-2).
