United States downs Denmark 4-1 at world junior hockey championship @NHL

HELSINKI - Auston Matthews had a goal and an assist to lead the United States to a 4-1 victory over Denmark on Thursday in preliminary round action at the world junior hockey championship.

Sonny Milano, Colin White, and Anders Bjork, on the power play, also scored for the U.S., which finished second in Group A at 3-1-0. The Americans will face the Czech Republic in the quarter-finals.

Mathias Lassen scored for Denmark, set to play Group B winner Russia in the quarter-finals.

Brandon Halverson made 16 saves for the U.S.
