Unice makes 26 saves to backstop surging Windsor to 5-2 win over Guelph @NHLdotcom

GUELPH, Ont. - Josh Unice stopped 26 shots and Dale Mitchell scored the game winner midway through the second period as the Windsor Spitfires won their 12th straight game, 5-2 over the Guelph Storm on Friday.

Eric Wellwood led the way with a goal and an assist for the Spitfires (41-5-0-1), the top-ranked team in the Canadian Hockey League.

Scott Timmons' scored a short-handed goal while Marc Cundari and Andrei Loktionov added singles in the Windsor victory.

Matt Kennedy had both goals for the Storm (26-16-2-3), while Brandon Foote made 33 saves in defeat.
