Tyrell and Connolly power Cougers to 3-2 win over Raiders @NHLdotcom

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. - Dana Tyrell had two goals and an assist, while linemate Brett Connolly had three assists as the Prince George Cougars defeated the Prince Albert Raiders 3-2 in WHL action Wednesday.

Cougars captainTyrell and defenceman Cameron Cepek scored in the third period to improve Prince George's record to 6-1-0-0. Tyrell opened the scoring with a power-play goal in the first period, and scored the second Cougars' goal in the third on a breakaway set up by Connolly, a rookie.

Captain Dustin Cameron and defenceman Ryan Button, with his first goal in the WHL, put the Raiders ahead in the second period. The second goal chased Cougars goaltender Ian Curtis, starting his first game of the season, in favour of Kevin Armstrong. Curtis allowed two goals on 12 shots, while Armstrong stopped all 16 shots he faced.

Steven Stanford was outstanding in goal for the Raiders, stopping 41 shots.
