The Stars lead the best-of-7 series 3-1 and can advance to the second round with a win Friday.
Seguin is resting in Dallas and remains day-to-day. He has been rehabbing a cut Achilles tendon that kept him out of the final 11 regular-season games, as well as Games 1, 3, and 4 against the Wild.
Seguin, who sustained his injury March 17 against the Tampa Bay Lightning, played 15:40 in Game 2. He had one shot on goal and four hits. Seguin did not travel with the Stars to Minnesota for Games 3 and 4.
Dallas is 10-3-0 during Seguin's absence.
With Seguin unavailable for most of this series, Ruff has used a top line of captain Jamie Benn, center Cody Eakin and Patrick Sharp on the right.
Ruff began Game 4 with that combination before switching Benn, who leads Dallas with six points (four assists) in the series, to a line centered by Jason Spezza (four points) with Patrick Eaves (three points) on the right. It was one of several line changes Ruff made in the 3-1 win on Thursday at Xcel Energy Center.
"Well, [that was all about] the matchups," Ruff said. "He [Wild coach John Torchetti] obviously gets the last change, so I wanted to pose a few problems for him and see how he was going to react to different looks.
"I thought for the most part, [Cody] Eakin, [Mattias] Janmark and [Patrick] Sharp were doing a real good job. The [Jason] Spezza line ended up getting us a big goal. The [Radek] Faksa line, I thought had a good night, didn't get much offensively but didn't give up much, so for me every line really was playing as well as I thought they could. Even the [Vernon] Fiddler line was in on a couple of opportunities."
